Did God create humans in his own image?

I have been pondering this question for a while now...... did God create humans in his own image, or did humans create God in their own image?

Here are the reasons I ask this question;

There are a lot of unanswered questions that no one ever seems to mention when they talk about God and Religion.

The way I think of it is...when God made the earth, God made animals first, a male and a female of each.

When God made man, he had to be asked by Adam to make a female companion.
Why would Adam have to ask for a companion when every other animal had one?
Ok, sooo...how did God know to make one animal of each sex and why would he only make one human animal as a male if he had no plans to make a female companion? (until asked by Adam, of course.)

If god conjured the other animals and Adam up from dust of the earth, why did it take one of Adam's ribs to make a woman? That, to me would make a woman special, since she is not made of dust, but from another human's rib.
If that is true, then wouldn't a woman's demise be something other than 'returning as dust to the earth, upon death' ?

This has me  thinking that there had to have been a God and Goddess in the beginning.

When man wrote the Bible, was a Goddess omitted by men, so that women were made to feel less important?

How or why would just one being figure out that it needed a male and female of each animal to reproduce and have companionship, unless it had those very things for its self ?

The bible wasn't written by God and handed straight to us, it was interpreted and then written by man. Were the important things written with mans way of thinking and interpretations added in?

When my kids were really little, if I wanted to tell them a story but didn't have a book, and if I couldn't remember a story word for word or if  a fairy tale and it had a horrible ending, I would improvise and make it the ending the way I wanted it to be.

Could the Bible possibly be the same thing?

Things that only seem to be word for word in the Bible are the words written in the New Testament in red ink. Those are the words that were spoken by Jesus Christ himself and those that wrote his words were ordered not to change them.

The New Testament replaces the Old Testament, making it obsolete. Kind of the same way an old rotary dial phone is compared to a smart phone today. It worked when it was needed but really hasn't got much use in the world today. Would that make the Old Testament obsolete?

If the information in it was updated with the New Testament , wouldn't it only make sense that the the Old was outdated and mostly useless?

My First Visit to a Psychic

So you've never gone to see a psychic but you're curious to know what it's like and what to expect. I'll share my very first visit to one with you.

A really good friend of mine asked if I wanted to go with her to a psychic fair with her. Since I had never went to one and she just told me to wait and see what was there and that she would show me around.

The first thing we did when we got there was stop at a table where they charged a fee to get in. (Not all have a cover fee.)  Then there was a list of people that were there such as internationally certified mediums, clairvoyants, psychics and fortune tellers, palm readers, tarot card readers, alternative healing and reiki. There were more but I didn't write them down and can't remember them all off of the top of my head.

She told me at the main table, you sign in and schedule a time to visit with the person of your choice. Since I really was kind of lost and didn't know exactly what each person might do, I told her I would walk around and take a look at everything first.

There were a lot of tables set up, kind of like going to a craft show but instead of crafts they were selling books that seemed very interesting to me, tarot cards, crystals and gem stones, jewelry, candle warmers that were quite unique, candles, incense, essential oils, clothes and other things that you just can't find at your local department store. Actually I spent more money shopping at the booths than I did when I went to visit with my chosen psychic.

While I was walking around checking things out, I was walking past some of the psychics and the advice my friend gave me was to tell me to try to get a feeling of someone that I would be comfortable sitting and talking with and go back to the front table and read which people did what things and choose that way. That is what I did!

I got my reading but at first, I felt a little apprehensive, didn't know if I really wanted to know what someone else might know about me that I didn't already know about me or maybe not want to acknowledge. What was I going to learn or find out about me?

I was first asked by the person I chose, what I wanted to know. My mind drew up a blank, I wasn't exactly sure what I was supposed to ask and I wasn't really sure just what it was that I might want to know, so I just shrugged my shoulders and told her I really didn't have a clue. She proceeded to tell me about certain little things about my recent past that sounded like she might know someone that knew me well. I was starting to sweat a little. Next she said I had to make a choice, there were two men in my life, one had anger issues and he was the one I should not choose, he was trying to hide his anger issues but I had seen little things that should tip me off as to which one it was. She seen a life decision that I recently had to make, it was a tough choice that I had made and I was struggling now but wouldn't struggle and that within a year or two I would have a different outlook on life, my lifestyle would change and not to worry because these were good changes. I had my session recorded for future reference so I didn't have to try to remember what she told me later and I wanted to see if she was pretty much on track a couple years from that day.

Most of what she had said was right. What she told me surprisingly enough to me was pretty much right on. This was almost six years ago and I still have the recording from my very first reading.

Would I go again to see a psychic? I have and although I mostly just go to go shopping for unique items, I have found that it's more interesting and fun if I get a reading done. I think one day I just might experiment and try a person that does reiki next time. I've been told how awesome it is and that it really does work!

Psychic or ESP?

Random thought....is being psychic the same thing as ESP (Extrasensory Perception) ?

We have five senses and those are touch, sight, hearing, taste and smell. Have you ever heard anyone mention their sixth sense? Considered to many people, it doesn't sound crazy to them or abnormal.

Someone that says they can tell who is calling when their phone rings (without a specific ring tone or checking caller ID) or knows that they are going to have company, something bad is going to happen, they go visit a friend or family member and they show up at the perfect time, take a different route to work and not knowing why except that "something told me to go the other way!" and avoiding a bad accident that would have happened at the exact same time they would have been traveling through?  Then their are the times we don't listen to our 'sixth sense' and don't answer a call that was important, miss a visit from someone because we didn't stay home like we thought we should, get in a fender bender because we 'went that way anyways.'

I've had this kind of stuff happen to me a lot and sometimes I wonder if these little things add up to something bigger. Maybe it's esp, maybe I'm psychic, maybe I'm just lucky!

I have a friend that loves going to psychic fairs and getting a recording of their session to see if things end up the way the psychic predicts. I am a little skeptical of psychics but more often than not, they seem to be right on track. Is it that they are 'reading' you, are they making assumptions and just guessing things because of the way you act, talk and dress?  Do they have extrasensory perception skills that have far surpassed the average person?

I know people that think psychics are scam artists or that they aren't religious or that it's just something bad all the way around but why is it such a far fetched idea if the rest of us have esp and think nothing of it?
Of course, I'm sure there are people that take your money and claim to be psychic and they're just grasping straws but I also think there are people that can perceive whether something good or bad is going to happen to someone just by feeling someone else's vibes or using their amplified sixth sense.

My answer is that being psychic is the same as having 'amplified esp.'

I Can See Your Aura!

I've always been curious about auras. Who could see them and why could they see them and the biggest  question of all, how could they see them?

The way I see it, anyone that has the patience to learn can see them but the thing that confuses someone trying to learn to do it is that not everyone has a strong aura so they are very hard to see. Someone that has very strong feelings about something usually has a strong aura.

It is said that every person, every organism and every object in the Universe has an aura, or electromagnetic field that surrounds them.
The human aura is an energy field or energies that are emitted from the living human body. The energies show up around the body in various colors in the shape of an oval, roughly 1 to 3 feet around the body, above the head and below the feet into the ground.

So why can’t we all of us see auras?
The way I see it, anyone that has the patience to practice and learn can see them but the thing that confuses someone trying to learn to do it is that not everyone has a strong aura and they are very hard to see.
Someone that has very strong feelings about something usually has a
strong aura, more vibrant colors, easier to see.
The ones we can’t see or that are hard to see are the people that are just doing the same thing, day after day and aren’t really feeling much of anything. Just going through the motions of life, doing what they need to do.

The first time I seen an aura, I didn’t realize exactly what it was or why I was seeing it. I was talking to a friend of mine and noticed an
orange/brown ring around her, kind of like someone had been holding a colored light bulb behind her. I had glasses on at the time and without looking away from her, I moved the glasses off of my eyes, just to make sure I was seeing a color coming from her and not a tint or hue caused by the glasses. I’m nearsighted and even though she was really blurry, I still could see the tints of colors surrounding her.

She was upset about a lot of things that she had no control over. Everyone else was making decisions for her that she wanted to make and she was feeling really stressed out.

I looked up orange auras, read a lot about auras and didn’t see what the color orange really had to do with any of the feelings she was having and then after doing a lot of reading, realized that auras aren’t just one color.
Her aura was definitely orange but after the orange, on the outside was brown.

Orange Relates to reproductive organs and emotions.Orange is the color of vitality, vigor, good health and excitement. Then there was the brown overlay and brown is the color that tends to reflect a negative condition. So what was going on? She was excited to be moving to a new home, she couldn’t wait to get into her new house and get it set up, to get her kids into a new school and to have a great new job making more money, that was the orange showing through.

The brown was showing because she was feeling overwhelmed, stressed out and upset or angry. She couldn’t get to her new home, everyone else was trying to make decisions for her before she got there, that she wanted to be making. Nothing was running on schedule for the move. She wanted her kids to move before the new school year started so they had a few friends. She didn’t want to go shopping for school clothes for them only to have to pack and unpack them all over again and she didn't know which school supplies her kids would need.

I was afraid to tell her what I had seen, I figured she would think I was a lunatic but thought it was in her best interest for her to know,  so I threw caution to the wind and just told her that I had noticed she had an orange aura with brownish overtones. She thought it was interesting and started researching auras on her own.

That day when I told her and explained a little bit about both colors surrounding her, she was more ambitious to get things done and started working and moving towards her goal that she thought was off in the distant future.

Her and her family  were ready to go to start her new life within three days instead of the two weeks she thought it would take.

She let me know when I talked to her, that she was sure if I could see her aura now, the brown would be totally gone! -->

A Mean Spirited House?!

Halloween is coming! Every year me and my kids go on the hunt for the scariest haunted houses around and we still haven't found one. One day I'll write about all the places we've gone and want to go but for now I'm just going to talk about a place that people say is really haunted.

I lived in a house for ten years and although I haven't seen and heard the same things other people have, I've felt like there was a presence or a cold spot while I was there and that was about it.

A brief history on the house: Originally it was a  one room school house, built in the late 1800's and then bought by a family that didn't stay there more than five years after trying to make it into a home. Sold it to a young husband and wife that had five kids.

Through the years, strange things would happen that no one could explain
but they loved where they lived and refused to move out of the house. Jimmy was the youngest of the five kids, a cute little three year old with big brown eyes. He loved to play with his little cars and marbles. When I lived there we would randomly find little steel cars and glass marbles throughout the yard while outside working.

One day Jimmy was out in the back yard in a shed playing with his two older brothers and two cousins. Somehow the shed caught on fire, everyone got out but Jimmy. The father ran out of the house and tried everything to get his son out but the shed was lined on the inside with chicken wire. The father ended up with a severely burned face and deformed hands for the rest of his life but that was nothing compared to the loss of his young son whom he heard crying and screaming in pain and agony as he died.

Five years after Jimmy's death, Chrissy, the oldest of the five had gotten her drivers license. The day she got her license she asked to take the family car and go for a ride on her own. She no sooner pulled out of the driveway and a truck plowed right into the car, killing her instantly.

Joe was the oldest boy, he learned to canoe in the boy scouts and was teaching the younger boys how to paddle and steer in the river across the street from the house. The river wasn't very fast or deep but somehow two years after Chrissy's horrible accident, Joe disappeared under the water and by the time he was found, he was no longer alive.

One girl and one boy were left of all the children in the family. They grew up and moved out and refused to visit their parents, always wanting the parents to find somewhere else to live and always saying the house was not a place where people should live.

The father died in his chair in the dining room where he would read his Bible daily. The mother died in her bed in a bedroom downstairs.

Five years after they passed away I bought the house. I got it at a good price because no one would buy it, it belonged to family and it was thought at the time that it should be kept in the family. Just a little note on this; I didn't know all of the history on the house until after I had already bought and moved in this house. I knew it was a one room school house at one time and the basement was kind of spooky so I would tell my kids' friends that there used to be a school master that used to burn kids in the furnace if they were considered bad by him. The kids would disappear and people in the town just thought that they had run away.

About a week after we moved in my daughter, who was twelve at the time asked if we had company the night before. When I told her no, she got a really funny look on her face, ran down the stairs and checked to make sure all the doors were locked. They were. I was told that there was a blonde haired, brown eyed boy with a white shirt, tan pants that looked like they had balloons above a pair of lace up, brown boots, standing on the staircase, staring at her through her bedroom doorway. Hands in his pockets just smiling at her, watching her sleep.

A friend of mine stopped to visit one day and I wasn't home when he got there. Me and the kids pulled in the driveway and found Dan behind the garage calling for us.  I laughed at him and said we had just got there, why was he behind the house yelling for us? He said he heard the kids laughing and thought they were playing a game of hide and seek and he was chasing them, never seen them but heard them. There were no neighbors close enough to mistake a neighbor kids' voice and when all of us walked around the house and met halfway, there was no one around.

Before the house was renovated, there was a large mirror in the bedroom, embedded in the wall with a ledge big enough around the bottom of it and you could sit on it. One night my husband woke up screaming, got up and ran out of the room, out of the house and into the front yard. He said he woke up and didn't know why and that someone with long black hair was staring at him in the mirror. He wouldn't talk about it after that night.

Slumber parties are always fun, my daughter had one on her thirteenth birthday and had about fifteen girls there. Everyone was downstairs watching movies and having a great time. I noticed there were a couple of the girls missing and started looking for them, they were upstairs, huddled in a corner and refused to come down the stairs. I assured them that the movies the other girls were watching weren't scary and it was okay to come down, nothing to be afraid of. They were scared and I let them know again, it was okay, nothing to be afraid of. I was told that  there was a woman with long black hair, razor sharp teeth and really long silver finger nails and she told them if they went down the stairs, she would kill them and then started laughing. I got them down the stairs and the rest of the night was quiet, everyone fell asleep in front of the TV.

My youngest son was five when we moved there, he had a really big bedroom to share with his older brother upstairs. He would play up there during the day but would never sleep up in his bed. He was always asleep on the couch in the living room downstairs or in my bed. If I tucked him in his bed, he would sneak back down and go to sleep any and everywhere except upstairs.

When he was thirteen, he had to be home alone waiting for me to get home from work, he never said anything to me until we moved out years later but told me he used to hear someone stomping around upstairs, slamming doors. Funny thing was, the two bedrooms upstairs didn't have doors because the doorways were so odd shaped, we couldn't find doors to fit so we just used curtains.

My older son was sixteen and sound asleep upstairs one night, me and the other two kids were downstairs watching a movie. He called for me and he sounded like he was sick so I went to the bottom of the stairs and told him to come down, I'd take his temperature and I could get him a blanket and pillow and he could just come down and lie down in the living room with us. He said "Mom, I'm not sick, I'm just stuck"  He really didn't look stuck to me, he was standing right at the top of the stairs! I went up, he said he "didn't want to scare the other two" and told me about this woman with red eyes, long black hair, razor sharp teeth and long finger nails. She had told him that if he went down the stairs she would kill his family before he made it halfway down. I tried to talk him into coming down but he refused and wouldn't discuss it with me after that.

Oddly enough, I never discussed any of this with the Pastor of my church. I asked him over to bless the house. He agreed, that was, until he got there, he came and knocked at the door and when I opened it and asked him in, he refused and said he had another appointment that he completely forgot about and couldn't do it that day and that houses really don't need to be blessed anyways. He never visited again.

My daughter had dreams after she moved out of the house, weird dreams about pulling in the driveway and people begging her to take them out of the house and take them with her. One man came out of the house with a shotgun and started shooting at her car and was laughing hysterically but didn't hurt her or damage the car, although she heard the blasts from the gun. She wouldn't visit often and when she did, she wouldn't stay long. Always was asking me to go visit her instead.
She's had dreams about the woman with the black hair coming after her with her wicked smile, always reaching for her but never catching her.

Eventually, me and the kids' dad divorced. He moved out of the house and not long after, my daughter got a place of her own. Me and my two sons lived there a couple more years and moved away.

My daughter stopped having dreams about the house and the 'other occupants'  and people have told me they didn't like visiting me there and that the living room and dining room were always cold in certain spots. They had the feeling that someone was watching them and felt uncomfortable. I was told this by a lot of different people at different times.

The house went up for sale, no one bought it until recently, so it was empty for six years. On occasion, I would go and check on the house to make sure everything was okay and that no one was staying there or tearing up the place. I went there one day and found someone had tried to break in. I secured the house better and better every time I went there because it seemed every time I went back, someone had found a different way in.

I got mad the day I pulled up in the driveway and someone had dumped off a big old TV, a chair, a sip-pee cup and a piece of sidewalk chalk. Another mess I had to clean up.  I got even madder another day when I went there and someone had stripped the wiring out of the basement and garage.

Odd, because the day I walked in and seen what someone had done to the wiring, I stood in the middle of the house, threw my hands up in the air in frustration and said "the next person that walks through this door that don't belong here and takes a part of this house with them, you have every right and my permission to go with them, it's over and you can leave!"

About a week later I was in the house, my daughter was in the area and she called me, I told her I was tired of the things that were going on there and wished that the bull crap would stop already! I told her what I said out loud the week before. She stopped in, went in the house, came out and said "wow! it really seems different in there, a whole different atmosphere and for some reason warmer in there than I've ever felt it and it's chilly today."

Two weeks later, I read about a man that had an argument with his parents about his two kids (the chalk and the sip-pee cup?) tied his parents up in chairs and killed them, strangling them with electrical wires and then shooting them with a shot gun. Before the police found the parents and him, he had taken the new big screen TV out of the house and sold it. He had been living out of a van in the town where my house was. Coincidence?

Funny thing, people ask if I'm spiritual or religious and I can't seem to make up my mind! I guess I'm really neither when I think about it.

Growing up I never went to one specific church and I never spent any time studying any religion in particular.

When I got older and was about to be married, I decided to go with my future husband's religion because I had to be a member of that religion in order to get married. A lot of what was taught was pretty much in sync with what I had learned along the way and seemed to make a lot of sense at the time. Having three kids, I figured they should have a lot of church and religion and maybe that would help make things seem more secure for them.

As the years went by, I started listening to what my kids were coming home and telling me and a lot of the time and I didn't necessarily agree with every view of the church. I told my kids to "think for your self" learn what you have to and if you have a differing opinion, we'll discuss it on the way home. Trust me, a lot of the time it was a really long ride home! I'm glad I taught them to have an open mind and become who and what they believed in.

I used to be very religious, and thought I was very spiritual. Maybe I was and was going through some kind of phase. Who knows? What I do know now is that between studying the Bible and checking into other religions that I didn't know or learn about as a kid has got my mind wandering into a million different places.

A lot of the same beliefs is what seems to bring them all together. One religion that I seem to like is Wicca. Far cry from what I was taught but so many things seem to make perfect sense and here I am, I'm still reluctant to change. I like Buddhism and what it teaches. Sometimes it's easy to think how simple a change would be but the choices seem to have endless possibilities.

So as I sit here I wonder what happened to the me that thought they knew everything and had it all figured out. All I seem to know now is that I probably won't ever know it all and I won't have ever figured it all out but I do know most of it is all in the mind.
Just like we can grow to be who and what we want to be and having many changes along the way, religion and spiritualism are very much like growing up if you keep your mind open to new and different ideas.

Floating In My Sleep

Strange how sometimes you do something and you have no idea how you done it and can't seem to do it again, no matter how hard you try!

When I was a little kid, I actually could 'float' around the house and check to make sure everyone was safe and asleep in their beds. I specifically remember wanting to see what was on top of the refrigerator and floated on over to see what was there. I seen two plants my Mom had there starting to root in mason jars, a nick knack (a small, white, glass puppy) and other random things.

I told my older Sister that I 'floated' and seen what was up on top of the fridge and she laughed at me. That was, until I told her what was there and she got on a chair and checked. She said I was right and never laughed or made fun of me again when I would tell her what I could do and see.

Now that a lot of time has passed and I think about this, it's strange that I took what I could do and just thought of it as common place.  I only felt embarrassed when she laughed at me and just thought she didn't want me to do it because she could do it. She was never able to do it but I didn't find this out for another few years.

I would really like to figure out why I was able to do this and why I can't now. I've read different reasons that people can have an 'out of body experience' and a lot of different ways to do it.

Relaxing your body and letting your body 'sleep' but not your mind is one way I have read to do this. Assuming that I could relax enough and not fall asleep, this might be a possibility but for me pretty impossible at the time. As soon as I sit or lay down and relax, I'm out!

Tramatic experiences can cause people to leave their physical body. I am not going to talk a lot about my childhood, but being an adult, thinking back to when I was a kid, there were things that had happened that I also thought were just common place and would terrify any little kid.

I have been researching and trying my hardest to see if I can 'float' or have an 'out of body experience' and if I ever accomplish that, I'm sure I'll have a lot to say about it!
